Residence Halls

These are suggestions for things to bring to make your room a comfortable place to live. 

• For your room: sheets (XL twin), 衣架, 电源板, 小型真空, area rug or carpet (no carpet 磁带 allowed), desk lamp and light bulbs, TV, 垃圾桶, stor年龄 boxes, 小风扇, full length mirror, 枕头, mattress cover, closet organizers, 3M hooks to hang items
• For your desk: 书挡, desk organizer, 文件盒, 文具, 邮票, 信封, 便签本, 索引卡, 纸夹, 磁带, 订书机, 萤光笔, pencils and pens, 电脑, USB flash drive, 书签, 计算器, printer (each student receives a designated amount of free printing on campus each semester)
• 卫生间: shower caddy, shower shoes, toiletries.
  Note: students living in the apartment-style or town homes will also want to bring a shower curtain
• Laundry and cleaning needs: laundry detergent, stain remover, laundry bag/basket, 铁, 铁ing board, 肥皂, 垃圾袋, 纸巾, 海绵, glass cleaner
• Food and utensils: 微波, 咖啡机, 杯, 杯子, eating utensils, 开罐器, 碗, 盘子, 微波able cookware, small refrigerator (less than 4.3 cu. ft.), food stor年龄.
  Note: students living in Colony West, Draper or Ramsey may also want to bring pots, pans and other kitchen cookware. 
• Everything else: 电池, 手电筒, small tool set, 闹钟, 伞, playing cards, 棋盘游戏, athletic equipment, 太阳镜, 背包, overnight bag, 自行车, 杀虫剂, insurance cards

To maintain a safe env铁ment, we don’t permit you to bring:

• Pets (with the exception of fish)
• 蜡烛
• Lofting furniture 
• Appliances with open heating coils such as toasters, 热板, sandwich grills, George Foreman Grill (excluding apartments)
• Space heaters
• 吊扇
• Halogen lamps
• Paint for dorm room or apartment
• Shelves or items that must be mounted to the wall (3M hooks are fine; drilling into the walls is not allowed)
• Weight lifting equipment (Don’t worry, that’s what Land Gym is for!)
• Tobacco products or alcoholic bever年龄s
• Bows, knives and firearms—including paintball/air soft guns*
• Hunting Equipment*
• 烟火*
• Hoverboards
• 乳胶
• Mattresses/bed frames

_{*You may, however, store your hunting firearms and all weapons with the campus police office. Weapons by definition include hunting knives, 剑, martial arts equipment, 击剑装备, balloon launchers, 土豆枪, and any item that shoots a projectile that is not named “Nerf”.}
